Pushing code to the public at work has its own ceremony. Multiple times a day.
Straight up: I am more than a bit jealous of Doug and his magical workplace.

Statement on Ice Cream Sandwich
It’s been no secret that one of the most popular requests I get is for me to eat an Ice Cream Sandwich. With the amount of buzz flying around Ice Cream Sandwich lately, and many of my partners and competitors both talking about and eating Ice Cream Sandwiches, it’s no secret that bringing an Ice Cream Sandwich into my mouth has definitely been something on my radar.
But while...

Why We Like: A Recommendation Engine For Tumblr... →
scottjacksonx:
Hey again, Tumblr.
Here’s the exciting conclusion of my research project. Now that I know why people Like stuff on Tumblr, I’ve been able to build a recommendation system that I think is a little smarter than most.
Most recommendation sites just look at what you Like. However, we Like things for all sorts of reasons. Should Liking something because it made you laugh contribute...

Sidebar: Would you like my phone?
It’s a 16 GB iPhone 4, in black. It has some AppleCare remaining on it, and it’s unlocked, so it’s great if you hate committing to carriers or if you hate committing to countries.

Make me a reasonable offer or ask more questions at lucas@fuzzygreenhat.com if this is a phone you’d like.

Wild and Weird, Down in California
With both Scott and Ryan announcing that they’re headed down to San Francisco, you’re probably wondering: what about that third guy? Is he joining in on the fun, or has he been Culkined, left behind to set burglar traps in Ryan’s apartment?
Well, believe the hype: I’m coming down for WWDC1, but prior commitments have me headed down on Tuesday instead of right now....

Great piece. It’s been nearly a year since I transitioned from a job that had me responding to crises nearly 24/7 to a workplace that doesn’t let you get anywhere near your email until you’re clocked in, and I feel much saner as a result.
