Two late-night Items
Instant Messaging. I just did a huge purge of my IM trust lists. If you got knocked off the bandwagon and want back on, or you were never on in the first place, add lucas@fuzzygreenhat.com to your Google Talk/Jabber list. If you’re an AIM person, send me an email and we’ll work things out. If you’re using MSN Messenger, it was nice knowing you, and hopefully we’ll see each...

Color Picker Showdown for Nerds
scottjacksonx:
Hex Color Picker from waffle software (the same group that did Google+Growl, a nifty little program I use every day) adds another tab to the Mac OS X Color Picker for dealing with colors in terms of hex values, a system more familiar to programmers and web designers than a box of crayons. It works really well and it’s free. Try it.
Hex Color Picker is nice, but if...

Well they should have anticipated hostility when they got rid of the Big Bacon Classic. It’s a classic! Says so right in the name! I didn’t mean to hit that guy so hard though. Either way, I’m making a run for it. I can’t go back to prison, Doug. That night I spent for the DUI almost killed me, and I swore they’d never take me back alive.

Previously on Under the Fuzzy Green Hat:
App Store is hard! I hate choices! Tumblr, make my decisions for me! I’m the baby, gotta love me!
Luckily, you guys rose to the challenge and picked some great apps to read feeds on my phone. It eventually came down to a showdown between Byline and Reeder. Reeder was prettier, so I bought it, and it’s probably the best stuff-reading experience...
Rands In Repose: Knee Jerks →
In any group of people larger than one, these instantaneous reactions to unexpected situations happen a lot, and understanding their range and impact is important to navigating awkward, tension-filled, and professionally tricky situations.
As someone who’s been dealing with a lot of surprises as a member of a board of directors for a local non-profit, a lot of this hits home. Hard....

I'm entertaining ANONYMOUS QUESTIONS today.
But as most of you know, I’m entertaining in general.
So go ahead: stuff something in my ask-hole.

Replycant
So I turned on Replies.
What eventually won me over was the fact that only people I follow — a.k.a. people I trust to create good content — get to be in your tumble-blog’s Reply club.
Which is a good thing, because Internet commenting can easily turn into a noisy dumbfest, and limiting responses to people I like (“friends”, if you will) does a lot to solve this problem.
So,...
Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Helpdesk...
Lucas: I'm on a roll today. I'm helping people. Getting calls done.
Lukasz: We should track that, you know? Call times. We could even give out awards for the people with the lowest average time!
Lucas: Ah, but what about the hard calls? The ones where you're guiding a client through a complicated process, and it takes 45 minutes, but you handled it like a champ. What about those?
Lukasz: Okay, well, we'll have endurance awards too.
Lucas: You know what? Let's give everyone an award for doing their job well. It'll be handed out every two weeks, and you'll get a cash prize, and we'll call it your pay cheque.
Lukasz: Fair enough.
Weird, I Was Just About To Recommend You For That...
Lucas: oh shit, tumblr tuesday is upon us
Ryan: ruh roh
Ryan: i suggested you
Ryan: HAPPY?
Lucas: under what?
Ryan: ASSSSSSS-HOLES
What RSS reader do you use on your iPhone?
A quick call for suggestions, because I am a dummy who doesn’t know how to do App Store comparison shopping.
(I currently use NetNewsWire, but it is sometimes a pain to flip through things, interface-wise. Ergo hoc, I want something better. Money is not an object.)
“It’s a start.”

I celebrate how much I like parodying Ryan by surreptitiously making this video. Also, something something truck nuts.
