Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure

While we’re on the topic of old video games (as well as in the spirit of Indiana Jones Weekend), I present to you Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, the classic LucasArts adventure game.

This is the most faithful video game adaptation of a movie I’ve ever played.

The sets are recreated as best the 256-colour palette allows. Much of the dialogue is lifted straight from the movie. (There are a few minor differences, naturally: some extra puzzles have been added, and there are a few alternate story paths that you can go along if you so choose.) If you’re a fan of the Indiana Jones series, you owe it to yourself to give this game a go.

It’s currently on Steam for the measly sum of $4.99, but for double the price, you can get it along with three other fantastic LucasArts adventure games (all of which are worth the price alone). (If you’re running Mac System 7.5, like my 10-year-old self, you can get it from Macintosh Garden; the same files will run using ScummVM on newer Macs. And maybe Windows too.)

Under the Fuzzy Green Hat is the curious web log of Lucas Wagner, a guy who probably has better things to do than post here all day.
