So, you probably know by now that I work at the coolest student newspaper in northern Alberta. But this year, we’re so cool that we’re hosting the Canadian University Press National Conference. One of the most important parts of hosting a conference like this is getting neat people to say neat things and impart wisdom upon budding journalists, and we did just that.

Yep: Jesse Thorn, America’s Radio Sweetheart, is coming to Edmonton as a keynote speaker for Nash.

Am I excited? Yes. Is this mindblowingly awesome? Absolutely. Will I be purchasing nicer clothes so that I don’t look like a hobo/IT guy while he’s coming to visit us? Hopefully my Put This On jumpsuit will have already arrived so I can wear that under a casually tweedy suit jacket. I might also get a pocket square.

Anyway, I’m gonna go hibernate for seven weeks or so. See you in January!
