We love the idea of beta testing, though. It’s a backstage pass to a movie set, a first draft of an upcoming novel, a rough sketch of a song. But, you know, unless you are prepared for them in a very specific way, those are all pretty frustrating experiences for both sides. I’m speaking, by the way, from the position of someone who has both tested software and had it tested. Let me get my thesis out of the way: think twice before asking someone to test your app; think thrice before asking someone to test their app.
