Ahem.

I believe it’s called the World Championships, anyone is allowed to win (not just Brazil), players tend to actually score goals in hockey, and there are less annoying vuvuzelas and more awesome green men in our noble sport.

Just an FYI. You know. If that’s all right with you. Eh.

Does anyone know how to disable Scientific Mode in Birdhouse? It’s really tryptophaning me up.

david:

Ben Walker came by to sing my favorite new tweet!

One of these days, I will have a personal troubadour to make music from the mundane. Until then, I’m living vicariously through Tumblr.

Unused iPhone App Ideas: “Star Power,” circa April

Sketched this one up (on paper!) just under eight months ago: basically, it was Reverse Birdhouse, insofar as it was just for reading Twitter posts, and not for actually posting anything. The main tab (although I think I might’ve had a thing for re-ordering the tabs) would be your timeline, and there would be a tab for just your favs, and (not in the above iteration) a tab for looking at the favs of your followees, and then a tab for the Favrd leaderboard.

The funny thing is, I never actually used Favrd that much. I’ve always been much more inclined to look at the favourites pages from other people on the Twitter that I follow, and read through those — the rationale being that clever people enjoy starring clever things. It’s kinda like iTunes’ Celebrity Playlists (which are still around, if a bit buried), except the celebrities are just a bunch of witty users of a neat short message service.

Anyway, I abandoned this idea shortly after this mockup, mostly due to having a full-time job during the summer, and I think some video games might’ve come out that week. Or maybe there was a cool-looking piece of tin foil. Who can tell? It’s in the public domain now. If you wanna make it, go for it. But give me a shout if you do. I might just spend a dollar or two on it.

Seinfeld — “The Sponge”

KRAMER: Hey, boys and girls. I need you both to sponsor me in the AIDS walk.
ELAINE: Is that tomorrow?
KRAMER: Yeah, yeah, so…git-git…<gestures to Elaine to sign the form.>
ELAINE (signing): Well, I admire you for joining the fight against AIDS.
KRAMER: Well, if I didn’t do something I wouldn’t be able to live with myself.
JERRY (signing): It’s hard enough living next door.
KRAMER: I tell ya, there’s some people, they just wear a ribbon and they think they’re doin’ something? Not me. I talk the talk, and I walk the walk, baby.
Under the Fuzzy Green Hat is the curious web log of Lucas Wagner, a guy who probably has better things to do than post here all day.
